Tucson Sentinal

Dylan Smith, editor of the Tucson Sentinal, was a guest speaker of my JRN 186 writing for the web class, Thrusday September 15th. Smith was very enlightening, giving my fellow classmates and I information about the Sentinal, a non-profit organization, that relies on its views for success. He delved into the nuances of the online newspaper industry and how, the Sentinel being a non-profit organization, relies on adverstising to maintain the site. I enoyed learning that the designer of the site, is a man who lives in Hong Kong, whom Smith has never met in person.

The Sentinel is primarily written by locals of Tucson, and has been the beaker of many local news stories, such as the Gabriel Gifford shooting, and news associated with that story.
